LET'S TALK MONEY!

No one likes to talk about it! But as artists, we have to think about it all the time. When I set out to produce my first solo show, it was almost impossible to set a budget, because no one could tell me what things cost! It's been almost a year since the world premiere of The Princess Strikes Back and I am still learning new things every day.

I am publishing my original budget for my debut solo show. It's not universal, but it's a place to start when you're setting your budget. For example, I had very specific costume needs, so that's where a large percentage of my budget went. My show was also produced during the Pandemic, so a professional videographer with live-stream experience was a must. You probably don't need that, but you may need to rent rehearsal space instead. I was lucky enough to use my living room for rehearsal! You get the idea.
